SPACE HORSE SOLARIUM
The Space Horse solarium offers a number of advantages. High temperature widens horse’s blood vessels and, as a result, increases the flow of blood, relaxes muscles, improves elasticity of tissues and relieves pain. Lamps emitting warm light can be used both before training or competition to warm and tone the muscles, and in the course of treatment of damaged tissues and muscle tension caused by injuries or overtraining. In case of horses with excessive muscle tension, the solarium warms and relaxes the muscles. Additionally, it calms the horse down and improves its mood, and after a bath or training it speeds up the process of water or sweat evaporation from the coat (the horse dries quickly). The solarium is used mainly for phototherapy and it is important both as a form of prevention and during treatment. It is also used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy since it greatly facilitates regeneration of back and spine muscles and joints.
The Space Horse solarium is a device consisting of special lamps (radiators cooled with air) in a laminated casing. Red and infrared radiation is perceived as heat.
Thus, the application of lamps with such properties is called thermotherapy. Lamps of this kind are used mainly in local (point) therapy and they curb inflammatory conditions by stimulating thermoreceptors in the animal’s skin. The Space Horse solarium is equipped with proper lamp ventilation based on appropriate air circulation. Such structure prevents overheating of the device and protects the horse’s skin against excessive heat. The solarium has a control panel allowing for height adjustment, thanks to which it is suitable for ponies and horses of larger breeds. There is also a possibility of using additional lamps functioning as lighting and a timer controlling the time of operation of the solarium.
The solarium should be installed in a place where the horse will not be able to move too much, as only such location guarantees that the device will be used in full.
Stud farms and rehabilitation and treatment centres dealing with therapeutic horse riding, operating as microenterprises, SMEs, foundations and associations may apply for refinancing of the purchase of the solarium for horses from the EU funds in the form of a subsidy in the amount of 40% to 85% of eligible costs. The level of subsidy depends on the organisational and legal form of the Applicant. Eligible costs are costs of purchasing the above device. Please contact us for further information on this issue.
